Wildflower Corner Country Tour (8 days)

Our recent trips to outback NSW have shown that the normal red desert country is ablaze with wildflowers and the farmers of the central west have huge crops of bright yellow canola. To say it looks spectacular is an understatement. Recent rains will add to the spectacular display, to see the country looking so healthy and vibrant is a rare thing, so we would love to be able to share this special time with you. This is a one off trip planned for early October.

We will commence in the central west town of Hillston in the middle of the Canola fields, from here we will lead you into some of the best wild flower country NSW has seen for years. We will pass through Willandra station on our way to Menindee where we will camp over looking the water filled Lake Pamamaroo. Expect to get some spectacular sunsets from the water’s edge. Then its through Broken Hill to Silverton and Mad Max country, eventually reaching Eldee station west of Silverton. After camping on Eldee we will take you on some of their great 4wd tracks before following station tracks that parallel the Dog Fence to another very remote station at Pine View. The wildflowers out here will be stunning. Then we drive to Fort Grey in sturt National Park and visit Cameron Corner, we can trek into Sth Australia and maybe even Queensland by the time we get there.

All around us will be the yellow, purple and white colours of the wildflowers. Our route then takes us along the Qld border and Dog Fence to Olive Downs, then through Sturt NP to Tibooburra before we camp at Mt Wood. The wildflowers continue to pave the way for us as we drive east to Wanaaring and down to the beautiful Trilby station on the Darling River. We have a full day to explore the charm and history of Trilby before continuing along the Darling to Bourke and eventually ending the trip camped on the Bogan river at Nyngan. Email us at info@4wd.net.au for a detailed itinerary.
